Description

This single vineyard Showcase Chardonnay comes from the Watching Tree Vineyard planted in 1989 with clones 95 and 96 on stony and pebbly soil. Wild fermented to truly showcase the ancient terroir, this award winner is a collectors Chardonnay. Drinking beautifully now with its richer mouthfeel, the grapes were hand picked to ensure gentle processing and ensure Mother Nature made this wine slowly.



Aged 'sur lie' in 225 litre French oak barriques (20% New Oak) for 10 months, this wine did not undergo malolatic fermentation. Medium bodied with long rich finish, the acidity balances the ripe stone fruits and lemon flavours. Serve slightly chilled with wild mushroom salads, fish roasted on cedar plank or any truffle dish.
